LICENSED BRANDS
G. H. BASS & MARC NEW YORK
Over the course of my time with OJG, the foundation of the men's business was established through the licensed brands: G. H. Bass and Marc New York. G. H. Bass served as the clothing extension of the brand's iconic shoe legacy, evoking a "Weekend Warrior" sensibility to each seasonal development. In contrast, Marc New York encapsulated the Professional Commuter with train- to office- to bar staples. Both brands were cost-engineered for the Clubs and Off-price retail markets.

MARKET
The Clubs retailers, such as Costco, BJ's, and Sam's, dictated the development calendar for the licensed brands. Due to the large volume and extended lead times for any given Club order, our seasonal developments began about a year and a half in advance of the retail season. Following the Clubs market season and selections, the seasonal developments were extended to Off-price retailers, such as Marmaxx, Ross, and Burlington. The selling strategy across both retail markets focused on few items with deep volume per SKU.
